Algona Emergency Medical Services is supported by the Algona EMS Association, a 501(c)(3) organization founded to assist the City of Algona in their mission. The Algona EMS Association is made up of many of the volunteer providers from our service. In addition to raising funds for our department, the Association serves as an informal advisory committee to the EMS Director, providing guidance and recommendations for the service operations on behalf of the volunteer membership.
In the past, the Association has used their fundraising proceeds to purchase vital equipment for Algona EMS, including the purchase of EZ-IO Intraosseous access devices and EZ-Lift Rescue Systems to allow us to provide better, safer patient care.
The Association hosts an annual French Toast Breakfast Fundraiser at the Algona EMS facility located at the north end of Kossuth Regional Health Center. This is an opportunity for the community to get an inside look at how Algona EMS functions, the equipment we use, and the many people who make it possible for us to provide care to our citizens.
